it's time to start praying

each day from now on that i'm working at the lady lever art gallery, i'm going to start praying in front of this painting called the daphnephoria by frederic lord leighton. leighton liked to paint classical themes and employed a lot of greek and roman myths in his work. this particular work pictures a festival for the sun god apollo. so i figure if i pray in front of it for the rest of the summer there may actually be some sunshine for an entire day.

this weather is totally bringing me down.

i had lunch today with a volunteer who's been working at the walker art gallery, who just happens to live in montreal. i spent almost two hours talking about how great summers are in montreal and how wonderful the weather in canada is....winters and all.

davoud, nick, val, paul and i are going camping in wales this weekend. sam, kel and lou were going to come but have backed out because of the weather. i'm not going to let this rain, cold and unrelenting wind stop me from enjoying myself, but it sure would be nice if we got some sun this weekend.

Would love to get Davoud's photo of "Scissors" in an 8x10 for the daycare. Too cool! Let me know if it's possible!!

You're not praying hard enough! Camping was a bit of a wash out, hiking in a force 8 gale with driving rain does not make for fun. At least the food was tasty ;)
